You are over 60 and would like to enjoy a reassuring presence at home, mutual support on a daily basis, or simply share your activities, and you have a spare room?
Shared living may be right for you. Experience solidarity-based shared living and receive each month a financial contribution toward your regular expenses. Your landlord offers a scheme that connects seniors looking for a caring presence at home with young people seeking a room.
Living with a young person has many benefits!
Share your activities: a walk, a trip to the cinema, the theatre, board games…
Benefit from daily mutual support with grocery shopping, carrying your packages or carrying out minor household tasks.
Have dinner together as you wish, or simply meet in the evening to chat.
All activities are defined with you when you are connected with the young person. Shared living is not a substitute for home help, but it offers genuine moments of sharing and companionship.
Intergenerational shared living does not change your lease: it is neither a house share nor a sublet.
Paris Habitat works with two associations that connect seniors and young people and support intergenerational shared-living arrangements.
You can contact either one so that it can support you at every stage of the project: registering, being connected with a young person, signing the commitment documents, and throughout the young person’s stay until their departure.
