A few simple rules can help prevent a fire from starting
Do not leave food cooking unattended.
Keep matches, candles and lighters out of children’s reach.
Do not leave electrical appliances on standby.
Do not overload electrical outlets.
Make sure cigarettes are fully extinguished and do not smoke in bed.
Keep flammable products away from radiators, light bulbs and hotplates.
Do not leave objects in shared areas or on balconies. They could help the flames spread.
Use electrical appliances in accordance with their instructions, particularly battery chargers.
Remember to clean your smoke detector regularly.
Paris Habitat buildings are technically designed to give firefighters time to arrive… So, in the event of a fire, do not panic and follow the emergency instructions.
If a fire breaks out, immediately call 18 or 112.
Consult the tenant memo “Fighting a fire” to learn all the right things to do.
